ELYRIA, Ohio — Behind the Elyria Police Department, the Black River is nearly eight feet higher than what it was last week.
The river usually stands at a foot tall, but after a constant flow of rain since Friday, it rose to about four feet tall by Sunday. And on Monday, it topped eight feet tall.
Also, the river usually releases about 25 gallons of water per second. Currently, it’s releasing about 3,400 gallons of water a second. What a rush!
