WICHITA, Kan. — As the temperatures continue to drop, KAKE News would like you to think of those less fortunate.
The Warm Hearts campaign helps collect winter-weather items to those who may not have them. The goal is to collect 10,000 items.
“Especially with the cold weather we’re feeling earlier this year, the need is very much there,” said Dave Coyle of In The Bag Cleaners. “People who could just one step away from hardship — one medical emergency, one family emergency away — and all they really need is a coat or a jacket or a blanket to keep them warm.”
From now until Jan. 31, people can donate new or gently used coats, sweaters and blankets. Those items will be professionally cleaned by In The Bag Cleaners. Then, the items go to the Salvation Army.
People who donate will get a coupon for free side at Arby’s with a purchase of a sandwich.
