MEDINA, Ohio–If you’re struggling to find your child a Christmas gift, one local preschool has two toys that top their list.
It’s was all hands on at The Goddard School in Medina, where children participated in the third annual Preschooler-Approved Toy Test.
They got to play with 20 of the latest educational toys, like expanding water beads, touch-and-feel games and green building blocks.
“It’s just very exciting to see, to watch them experience toys for the first time,” said Lisa Colant, owner of The Goddard School. This was the school’s first year participated in the annual test. “I mean, we have toys here, but a lot of them were new that we hadn’t had before. It’s great to see how kids gravitate toward the different toys and what they were able to do with them.”
The children voted on their favorites, and two toys were definite winners.
“We actually had [connector sets]. The children love those,” she said. “It gave them an opportunity to build and create. And the other thing was the doll. Those two tied, at least for our school.”
Colant said she plans to integrate the toys into the school’s curriculum–more proof that learning can be fun.
