Cleveland knows how to rock, just not fashion.
According to GQ Magazine, C-town ranks at the 30th worst-dressed city in America.
“It’s not surprising to hear, it’s just a little disappointing to hear,” said Olmsted Township resident Sarah Bass.” I feel most people are pretty stylish. A lot of the woman and stuff are wearing cute dresses or suits and whatnot for work.”
GQ writer John Thompson says, “The biggest tragedy in Cleveland may not be the withdrawal of heavy industry, or the unending disappointment in sports. It may be that, after burning all those LeBron jerseys, there was nothing left to wear.”
And reality TV stars Snooki and Pauly D better look out.
Thompson dubbed downtown’s West 6th Street a “Jersey Shore penal colony.”
“Well, if you’ve ever hung out on West 6th, I can’t argue with them,” laughed Elyria resident Solomon Gunyula. “Anyone that has to say that about the City of Cleveland obviously hasn’t been in the city of Pittsburgh or Baltimore.”
There are 29 other cities that rank worse than Cleveland. Jersey Shore ranks at No. 19, and our rival down south, Miami, ranks at No. 9.
The city may have a few fashion failures, but are we truly short on style?
It may be hard to tell, but look around — or if you dare — go ahead and look in the mirror.
