A water main break gushes onto and Lakeside Avenue and Ontario, closing roads and frustrating downtown drivers.
“The regular line that feeds the building is OK, so we’ve isolated it,” said Ivan Henderson, assistant director of public utilities. “We turned off the water and being to locate the actual break and begin the repairs.”
But now, the site is leaving movie makers literally stuck in the mud.
City officials say the repairs could take up to three days to clean up, potentially delaying the filming of “I, Alex Cross.”
“We’re going to ppen the ground up, begin to see what kind of repairs does it involve,” Henderson said. “Are there duct banks being involved? Do we have to hand dig, etc? It could be extensive. We’ll take our time, do it right and we’ll go from there.”
After things are cleaned up, movie producers say filming will continue until at least Saturday.
Lakeside Avenue from West 3rd to East 6th will be blocked for filming.
RTA customers should expect a slightly longer commute, as buses drive around the road closure.
