Facebook users: gear up for more changes.
After the website redesign created a digital uproar, founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announce additional plans for Facebook’s 750 million users.
Perhaps the biggest change is user profiles.
At the company’s annual F8 conference, Zuckerberg said profiles will become a one-page “Timeline,” a cross between a blog and a digital scrapbook of your life. The feature will enable you to look at the different years of your life, featuring major events and photos of each year.
“Until recently, there were a lot of people who weren’t sure how big this phenomenon of people connecting online would be or how long it would last,” Zuckerberg said. “But by now, most people see that social networks are going to be a ubiquitous tool used by billions of people around the world to stay connected every day.”
Within the next few weeks, users will also be able to share music online as well as read the news and watch TV shows–for free. Zuckerberg said users can also watch movies on Facebook, but they will have to pay a subscription fee.
The features will join the website recent redesign, including changing news feeds, adding a news ticker and subscription features.
