It’s a tradition as important as the game itself, but the City of Cleveland wants people to stay safe while partying at the municipal lot this football season.
“They should not have open containers, that they should not get, open fires should be put out the direct way,” said Michael Cox, director of public works.
Some of the biggest game-day rule changes went info effect last year. Instead of being allowed in the muni lot at 4 a.m., fans have to wait until 7 a.m. Lot feels also increased from $15 to $20 last year.
This year, however, the city is rewarding fans for pre-game partying.
“We’ll be doing a recycling challenge,” Cox said. “You’ll see new containers at our muni lot that recyclers should go in. We also have people going around through the lot, picking up your bottles and cans.”
The challenge pins Browns fans against the Cincinnati Bengals fans. The team that recycles the most at the end of the season gets a trophy.
“It’s a fun rivalry. Just another win for Cleveland this year,” Cox said.
