As Northeast Ohio gears up for 2012, there’s one thing on the mind: snow.
A winter blast is set to come through the area through Tuesday.
“I’m not used to the cold weather,” said Crystal King of Cleveland. “I was thinking about moving to a warmer state, but you have to adjust. It’s Cleveland.”
Cleveland’s unpredictable weather has people like King on edge, but she’s a glass-half-full kind of gal.
“I’m not prepared for it,” she said. “The only good thing is that my job closes if it snows really bad, so if it’s going to snow tonight or at least by Tuesday, I need it to snow a lot.”
Fox 8’s Weather Team expects six to eight inches may hit portions of Northeast Ohio. Some of the peak snowfalls could drop up to two inches per hour, and winds may reach as high as 50 miles per hour.
Terrace Campbell said the mild winter has been a much-needed relief.
“Usually, I have to wear a heavier coat, but now it’s more like hoodies and sweaters this season,” he said.
Yet, Campbell admits he’s excited about what the snow may offer his children: an opportunity to make memories.
“They love the winter,” he said, “and they’re kind of disappointed they don’t get a chance to come outside and throw snowballs and play in the snow and make snow angels. This will be great.”
