CLEVELAND — Local support continues to pour in for Chardon High School students.
Cleveland Police and the Cleveland Metropolitan Housing Authority presented the Hilltoppers with a special plaque and banner in memory of the three students killed in the tragic school shootings in February.
“I think it’s important from a community, from one community to another community, to support the lost and the loved ones,” said Levon Foster, president of Riverside Park Local Advisory Council.
Riverside Park, a community within CMHA, created a large red and black banner, which are Chardon High School colors. Covered with ribbons and pictures, the poster had more than 200 signatures from residents and Cleveland city officials.
“It’s overwhelming, and it’s a blessing for them to reach out, even in the community,” Foster said. “You know, we have our problems here, but everybody has problems, and I think with Chardon High School, we as a community need to reach out to them, regardless of how far they live.”
