WESTLAKE, Ohio – Republican vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan will visit the Cleveland area on Tuesday.
The Wisconsin congressman will hold a rally at the Westlake Recreation Center. Doors open at 10 a.m. The program will start at noon.
“I would love to come see it,” said Chris Boyer of Lakewood. “I just think it`s important to drum up interest in the campaign. I know a lot of people aren`t registered to vote, so it would definitely increase people`s awareness of just the campaign in general.”
The visit will be Ryan’s second to the Buckeye State in recent weeks. Many are anxious to hear more what he and Romney have to offer.
“I’m disenchanted of all of them and what’s happening of this country,” said James Malloy of Avon Lake. “None of the candidates are talking about very serious issues with the financial well-being of this country. There’s a bigger mess out there than the dribble they put forth, of no content.”
People on both sides of the aisle said the rally, among the many coming to Ohio in upcoming weeks, is an important part of the political process.
“The approach of Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney is not productive and is not getting us in the right direction, but everyone needs to hear what they`re saying and they need to pay attention what they`re saying,” said Ted Waters of Bay Village. “I hope that people become more engaged and involved just in general. I think people really need to be paying attention. It`s a very difficult time that we`re facing, that the world is facing.”
The rally is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. People can register for tickets online or on the Romney-Ryan mobile app.
Attendees will be required to go through airport-like security.
Bags, sharp objects, umbrellas, liquids and signs are prohibited. Cameras are allowed.
