Manhattan — From the glamour of the Big Apple to a night out in the Little Apple, all people can think of is Sex: and the City, that is.
Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte made their splash to the big screen in New York’s pride, Sex and the City: The Movie.
But the even bigger splash was in The Little Apple, where everything from cocktails to movie tickets to the stilettos that got them there were inspired by the film.
“I am so excited. I’ve been waiting for this forever,” says Lindsay Medlin, who has waited four years to see the film finally hit the big screen. “Well, of course I can’t wait to see Carrie and all of her fabulous shoes.”
“I was pumped up,” says Edelis Ocasio, who drove from Junction City to see the midnight premiere of the film. “I was kind of sad to see the series leave off with Big and Carrie finally together.”
Like the four New York women in the HBO hit series, women in Manhattan, KS also want it all. We couldn’t help but wonder: Is it possible to find success and love right here in the Little Apple?
“Maybe it’s possible,” says single gal Jacqui Cooper. “Love is possible, you just have to wait for it to happen.”
“Absolutely,” Medlin says. “I don’t know if my best friends would agree, but I found love in the Little Apple. Maybe she will find it, too.”
It’s true. Sex does sell. More than 100 prepaid their tickets and filled up on cocktails in anticipation of four years without seeing their favorite characters on screen.
And what do these moviegoers hope to see?
“I heard somebody was going to die, and I hope that that doesn’t happen,” Manhattan resident April Jacobs says.
“I definitely want to see Carrie walk down that isle with Mr. Big,” Ocasio says.
Maybe not all moviegoers will get their happy ending, but if anything, they will get Carrie-d away.
Thank you for a very clear and helpful post. I am definitely a violator of many of these rules. I often find myself conflicted when writing a blog post because I see myself writing more than people want to read, but I feel that I have to do the subject matter justice by thoroughly covering it. I feel that by following some of these rules I end up cutting out important aspects to the discussion. I guess you have to find a balance.
Thank you for this very informative post, it is quite refreshing to read posts from someone who obviously knows what they’re talking about
