NORTH OMSTED, Ohio – For those shopping for loved ones, local retailers are cranking out incredible deals this holiday season. And come this week, there are many must-have items for the fashionistas in your life.
YOUTH
Forever 21 is one of dozens a that will open at midnight on Black Friday at Westfield Great Northern Shopping Center.
“So for this year, those shoppers that decide to come out at midnight, we’re going to offer up to 21 percent off for the first 200 people,” said store manager Troy Figler.
Most boots will be $10 off and most denim jeans will be on sale for $10, but Figler said the store is the perfect place for the trendy shoppers.
“The embellished collars are really big this year and so is fur,” he said. “So, either item would make a great outfit for holiday time.”
WOMEN
Yet, some shops, like Dress Barn have sales starting as early as Wednesday, said assistant manager Kimberly Ziegler. There will be a storewide buy-one-get-one-free sale, and there will be giveaways with purchases.
“The must-have items here at Dress Barn right now are definitely the bright-colored items and anything with sparkle or shine on them,” Ziegler said. “All the glitzy tops with the nice-colored bottoms is big.”
Ziegler said pashmina scarves are a big winter trend, which many women wear in lieu of a necklace or a traditional winter scarf.
MEN AND FRAGRANCES
Looking and smelling good for the holidays can also score you some freebies at Macy’s.
“In fragrances, with any $75 purchase, we have free headphones,” said vice president and store manager Jerry Kovatch. “In our Nicki Minaj fragrance, if you purchase the fragrance, you get a free laptop bag.”
Kovatch said there are also some great buys for men.
“We have cashmere sweaters at 60 percent off for the guys,” he said. “It’s really soft hand, but extremely extremely warm but also lightweight for them.”
Analysts say about 150 million people are expected to hit retailers – both online and in stores – by the weekend. If you plan on shopping for Black Friday, it’s best to check out those ads and strategize a bit before you go to the stores.
