SHEFFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio – The past few months have been a test of faith for Marge Brown.

She searched high and low for her long-lost Yorkshire terrier, Megan. The dog’s been missing after briefly being let out into the family’s back yard on Nov. 15.

“We just went anywhere and everywhere every single day,” Brown said. “I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t sleep. I had to start taking pills.”

Not long after Megan went missing, Marge decided to start something new: writing letters.

Nearly every week, she’s paid to put a letter in a local newspaper, hoping others may know what happened to the 17-year-old pooch. Some of the letters are written from her perspective, while others are written as if her dog was telling the story.

“It’s incredible,” she said. “People are calling me from all over the whole cotton-picking United States. I can’t believe it. I just can’t believe it.”

Nearly 100 calls later, Marge says she hasn’t given up hope.

Megan has been a part of Marge and her husband, Buddy’s, life since 1995.

Over the years, Megan has faced a number of challenges. The dog is blind, hard of hearing and has bladder problems.

“It’s been a horrible time in my life, even when I lost the other dogs,” Marge said. “I mean, there was an end to it. I knew they were dead, but with Megan, I sit here and wonder day by day. Is she alive? Is she… is someone mistreating her?”

Marge said she misses spending time with her six-pound pup.

“She was just so sweet and loveable and she was a quiet dog,” Marge said. “

With each day that passes, Marge said it’s tough to see Megan’s bed empty. Yet, in that time, Marge has never lost faith.

“I want her home, and I can just feel her,” Marge said. “I’m serious. I don’t believe she’s dead. I don’t believe it. I pray her about and it’s just like I can hear God saying, ‘I’m here.’”
