Such an exciting day for Mansfield community today.
This morning, Wendy Killian, the teacher who is giving her kidney to a former student, underwent the transplant surgery.
After a two-hour procedure, the recipient, 8-year-old Nicole Miller, went through a grueling five-hour operation.
The families were generous enough to give Fox 8 a television exclusive on the process. The hospital was also kind enough to let me in the operating room to see the whole thing. We’ll be airing the incredible story soon on Fox 8 News.

It’s pretty incredible to witness a miracle.
