SANDUSKY, Ohio – If you love roller coasters, there was only one place to be today: Cedar Point’s Coastermania.
“Well the atmosphere out here is pretty much incredible,” said Brandon Caruso of Sandusky. “I mean, you see people from all over the place. They come from all over the country.”
Caruso was one of more than 2,000 roller coaster fanatics walked through the gates Friday morning.
Indiana resident Katie Yagodinski said the drive was well worth the trip.
“It’s one of the best places to go to,” Yagodinski said. “The thrills the rollercoasters. They never get old. They’re awesome.”
One of the newest thrills added to the park is The Gatekeeper. The roller coaster has broken seven world records, making it the tallest, fastest, longest-wing coaster of all time.
“I’ve never been on anything like it,” Caruso said. “It’s the most incredible ride I’ve ever ridden.”
“It’s incredible,” added Eric Morrison of Akron. “There’s only a couple rides in the world, where you flip upside down at the top. It’s amazing. You hold on tight. You scream. You shout. That’s what roller coasters are all about.”
