The Salvation Army has become famous for year-end bell-ringing to raise donations. And for one day, the KAKE News team is joining in the ringing.
A one-day KAKE Kettle Blitz began Wednesday morning in east Wichita, with stops planned all over the city. An anonymous friend of the Salvation Army is offering to match all donations up to $100,000.
Familiar faces will be on duty at these Dillons stores from early-morning to after dark:
6:00-8:00 a.m.: Jay Prater and Phil White, Central and Rock.
11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.: Deb Farris and Mike Iuen, Harry and Webb.
4:00-6:00 p.m.: Jemelle Holopirek, Annette Lawless and Susan Peters, 31st Street South and Seneca.
5:00-7:00 p.m.: Larry Hatteberg and Ben Pringle, 21st and Maize.
