WICHITA — A new report reveals that sales are down at Intrust Bank Arena.

Sales for the first quarter of the year are down by nearly $1 million compared to the same time-frame in 2013, said Ron Holt, assistant county manager.

Holt revealed during a presentation at the venue brought 38 performances from January to March. In 2013, it had 46 performances.

Despite what appears to be a setback, Holt said there’s a lot to celebrate. The arena has it’s second-best year in 2013.

“After the four years of operation and with this presentation today, the total net operating profit to Sedgwick County has amounted to $1,619,675 dollars,” he said.

The county was presented a check of more than $250,000, based on profits from last year. He said several big-time acts will perform this year. He said the arena has never had a loss, and expects these performances will give Wichita a boost.
