Looking for a great last-minute gift for dad?

There are plenty of great suggestions on the web. Here is a compilation of some that I’ve found – and hopefully they’ll wow yours!

FOR THE MEAT LOVER

As published on AskMen.com, you may want to consider chef Michael Symon’s “Carnivore” cookbook.

“Great for the dad who likes to cook both simple and elaborate meat-based meals, Michael Symon’s cookbook is an offer featuring 120 recipes for carnivores. The book is a great blend of traditional dishes, like pork pie and smoked lamb ribs, with a touch of contemporary.” – via AskMen.com

Costs about $20 at Walmart

FOR A NOSTALGIC TWIST
If you have a favorite memory with your dad, make it come to life once again. For me, it’s gardening or maybe going to a Royals Game growing up. If you have a picture of this, take the picture and get it framed. Wrap that up and pair it with tickets to another game to create more memories.

If you can’t print the picture at home, WalMart, CVS, Walgreens and other convenient stores often offer instant printing services for less than $1 for a small photo.

FOR THE BUSINESS MAN
Grab him a fancy wallet, but don’t leave it there. Fill it with a gift card to his favorite go-to spots – maybe Starbucks, a fast-food joint or store. Want to up the ante? Add an old photo of you and him in there for safe measure. Not only will he know who the gift is from, but he’ll have great memories to reflect on with the gift.

FOR THE HUNGRY MAN

Nothing beats being catered, and even if you’re not the greatest cook, it’s the gesture that counts, right? Consider making him a breakfast in bed – eggs, French toast, bacon, sausage, orange juice, coffee, etc. Not that great of a cook, take him out for a meal. Consider something outside of a chain. There are some great mom-and-pop restaurants. My husband and I have a soft spot for Riverside Café in Wichita. The Beacon is also good. But be warned – these places may be busy.

FOR EVEN MORE MEAT LOVERS
Consider the Carnivore Club. You can snag your dad fresh artistan meats, delivered right to his home. The goods come in a faux wood box and have four to six handcrafted and cured meats, according to the International Business Times. They’re also accompanied by a Meat Eaters Handbook. In the past, products range from Italian Salami to South African Bilton and Artisanal Jerky – yum!

If dad’s not a meat fan, there are plenty of other subscription services out there, where he can get goods mailed home, reminding him of your love year-round. Aww… right?

FOR THE HANDY MAN
Many stores will have Father’s Day-ready kits. It may be a pack of hand tools, shave kits or some cologne. Don’t just wrap up that gift with wrapping paper! Get it packaged up, and then wrap it with the box with a tie. It’s a nice touch to an otherwise unoriginal gift. He’ll appreciate it.

FOR THE GAMBLER
Create a “52 Reasons Why You’re the Best Dad in the World” flip book. Get a deck of playing cards, punch a hole in a corner of the deck. Then loop a keychain hook through it. On the face of the cards, place a small piece of paper on top. Glue or tape the paper on there and write your message. If you want, you can include pictures to slip between the pages.

FOR THE COMPETITOR
The little kids can get crafty with a little bit of Styrofoam cups and duct tape. Check this out. Too cute → http://www.pinterest.com/pin/48835977182233691/

FOR THE MAN’S MAN
Create a man bouquet with his favorite snacks, drinks, jerky sticks, tools, duct tape and other little things he loves. You can place the items in a basket or you can put them in a vase. Then, put some foam in the bottom and stick skewers with your gifts attached. Finally a bouquet dad will love!
