For those who have questions about the Ebola virus, there’s a hotline to help.

Sedgwick County has partnered with the United Way of the Plains to give out information on the virus. They can reach experts by calling 2-1-1, which is the United Way’s current information hotline available to people across the state.

“Sedgwick County has no cases of Ebola, but county officials are encouraging people to educate themselves about Ebola, which is only spread through direct contact, for example by contact through broken skin with the blood or bodily fluids of a person infected with Ebola,” as stated in a joint news release.

“We’re looking at what we can do to help reduce anxiety around Ebola as much as possible, and so having a community number that many people are already aware of, because 211 is there for resources for Kansans, that they can call and ask questions that they may have,” said Adrienne Byrne-Lutz, Sedgwick Co. Health Interim Director.
