It’s been a wild ride in the past year – my first full year back in Kansas.
Now more than ever, though, I am ready for 2015. I have many big things in store:
1. The revamp of Good Morning Kansas, Sunday. Our debut is in just 10 todays. See meteorologist Blake Smith and me at 8 a.m. on Jan. 11.
2. A big return to Cleveland. This spring, I will be traveling back to Ohio (hopefully dragging my husband in there too) to finish up my fabulous film, Lady Dragon. I’m hoping to stay fit and get trained for epic sword fighting with the ever-fabulous indie actress Kristina Michelle. She’s one of my favorite Ohioans. Plus, it’ll be extra nice to visit old friends at Fox 8 and in the acting world too.
3. Moving forward with reporting. I’ve been honored with TV journalism’s highest award in 2014. It was amazing to be the recipient of an Edward R. Murrow award – an achievement I accomplished completely by myself. For this year, I hope to challenge my storytelling in a many ways. We’ll see how it all comes into fruition.
4. A larger social-media front. I spend a lot of time on Twitter, Facebook and other sites. I have plans to expand my YouTube channel more. I’m also hoping that I can hire folks to help produce my indie film show, On Set With Annette. That’s right. Employees! I just don’t have the time to edit things on my own anymore. I’m sure my husband would like me to have a little free time too.
5. More adventure with my husband is always a goal. We’re hoping to finally have time for our “honeymoon,” even if it’s two years after our wedding. A lot of work obligations/rules prevent us from taking time off. Now, I can put in a request.
I hope you all have great plans for the New Year. I am excited. Happy 2015!
