One Wichita diner is already known for its good food and friendly smiles, but, now customers are seeing a new smile thanks to a kind stranger.
A man visiting the Doo-Dah diner in downtown Wichita was going to the restaurant with family for the very first time. Yet, after meeting his server, he ordered more than just breakfast.
Of all the items on the menu, there’s one treat people can’t get enough of and that’s the infectious laughter and personality of one waiter, Brian Maixner.
Just a few weeks ago, a customer was taken back by Brian’s attitude and had an offer almost to good to be true.
That offer was a makeover for the single dad, transforming the decaying teeth he’s struggled with for years into a brand new, healthy smile.
Brian, who was already a Doo-Dah favorite, is even happier now, flashing diner patrons his new mega-watt smile.
“I’m going to live longer from it. It makes me a lot happier. It just blows my mind how kind people can be and not know you at all. It’s just kind of crazy,” Maixner said.
The man who paid for the makeover is Fred Boettcher, an attorney from Ponca City.
But Brian tells KAKE news that Boettcher has helped several other people with acts of generosity, with impact now reaching Wichita and touching one waiter’s heart forever.
“Thank you again and again. I just can’t thank him enough. I always just try my best to go and pay it forward and smile and kill people with a lot of kindness,” said Maixner.
This is not the first person to get a makeover at Doo-Dah-diner.
The owner tells KAKE news she got a makeover from a local magazine this past year, which also included dental work.
