Officers serve communities across KAKEland in a number of ways. However, this month, an event is hoping to give back to those who’ve served.
The first-ever Officer Down 5K and Community Day will take place on Saturday, July 16. Thomas Burke, national founder of the event, said it’s the perfect opportunity to recognize officers.
Wichita’s Officer Down 5K will benefit the non-profit Fraternal Order of Police Wichita, Kansas Lodge #5. They have designated the Honore Adversis Foundation as their beneficiary. The Four-Legged Project will also be a beneficiary.
