My boss was so kind to let me anchor a lot this week. The weekday morning gig is a little different than what we do on weekends. Still, it’s rewarding.

I’ve been on the anchor desk filling in for Shane Ewing as he’s covering the Kansas State Wildcats in Charlotte for the NCAA Tournament.

Though the bump in the schedule was nice, it wasn’t easy for my husband’s schedule, but he made it work for us and Henry. You do what you have to for the ones you love. I’m grateful we could make it work for the job I love.

We both got our start in television more than 10 years ago at KAKE News. This business means the world to us. We’ve found so many great things — not just opportunities, but each other.

We’re truly blessed.

  1. Hi Annette!
You ALWAYS do a GREAT Job Anchoring(& Producing)GMK on the Weekend.
I always look forward to seeing you Anchor on GMK(during the week too)if Shane or Jemelle are off.

    You’re a BLESSING and a inspiration to me(as I worked at KAKE-TV from 1991-1998).

    I was a Teleprompter Operator,Production Assistant,and a Producer.

I’d love to see how my Friends Deb Farris and Jemelle are doing.

I hope my Son John Jr.and I could come and hangout with you at KAKE(one of these Saturday’s).

May God CONTINUE to Bless You and Your Family NOW(and Forever)!!!!
