To help the family of an officer and son killed in a tragic motorcycle accident, a Wichita donut shop is hoping to help.
SPECIAL DONUT SALE
Hurts Donut will be selling donuts to honor the two all day Tuesday. A cake donut with a thin blue line is made to pay tribute to Stacy Woodson, a 16-year veteran of the Wichita Police Department. A cake donut with a “B” on it is made in tribute of his son, Braeden. It’s sprinked in the 10-year-old’s favorite color, blue. Hurts said 100% of the proceeds will go to Woodson’s family.
The donut sales will only take place at the northwest Wichita location at 7010 W. 21st Street in Wichita – near 21st and Ridge.
Woodson leaves behind a wife and daughter.
“We hope to help them through their healing by lifting any financial burden that may take away from their time to grieve,” Hurts Donut writes on Facebook. “The Hurts Donut team could not be more proud to be part of a community that comes together to comfort, support, and pray for the Woodson family in their time of need.”
For those who cannot make it to Tuesday’s sale or who want to help beyond that, the donut shop will be collecting money for the family.
OTHER WAYS TO GIVE
In lieu of flowers and cards, the department is asking for donations for the family be sent in Woodson’s name to:
The Honore Adversis Foundation 477 N. Seneca St. Wichita, KS 67203.
