A new music video may be called the milk carton of digital age.

In the late 90’s, Soul Asylum, director Tony Kaye and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children made this ground-breaking music video: “Runaway Train,” which featured images of missing kids in the United States.

The video helped recover 21 missing children.

Now, musicians have released a new remix of the song. For the 25th anniversary, here’s  Runaway Train 25. Musicians Jamie N. Commons, Skylar Grey and Gallant collaborated for a new video. The new video is designed with smart technology, showing missing and trafficked kids – near you.

Each year there are reports of more than 400,000 missing children in the United States.

Much like a photo on a milk carton decades ago, the hope is that people who watch will recognize and report a missing kid in their community. Research shows that 61 percent of recovered kids are found in the state where they went missing.
