Investigators are puzzled by a young man found dead decades ago — still unidentified.

On April 18, 1973, the body of a male was found in a shallow stream about 180 feet from 1550 Road on the south side of Garnett, Kan.

It’s believed that the young man, maybe 17 to 20 years old, had died two to four weeks before when he was found, according to the Department of Justice. His body is among 25 of people who remain unidentified in Kansas.

An artist with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children created a composite rendering of what John Doe may have looked like at the time of his disappearance.
