The daughter of the BTK serial killer has resigned from efforts investigating cold cases.

Kerri Rawson said she’s stepping away from the National Cold Case Task Force. It was created to look into the potential connection between her father, Dennis Rader, and the disappearance of Cynthia Dawn Kinney, an Oklahoma teenager who went missing in Pawhuska in 1976.

On Twitter, Rawson writes, “Dear media, law enforcement, criminal justice partners & the public:

Effective as of 11/3/23 I resigned from the BTK National Task Force. I wish them the best in their endeavors.

I continue to serve as a protected witness as needed with active law enforcement.”
