Decades after a man was believed to be murdered in north Kansas, his remains have yet to be found.
Frederick Albert Iwert was last seen on April 20, 1983, at his farm in rural Washington County, Kan. Court documents show Fred and neighbor J. Ted Gardner likely had an argument, and then Gardner killed Fred.
J.T. Gardner was convicted of first-degree murder, forgery and attempted theft in Fred’s disappearance. J.T. Gardner passed away on February 2015. He is pictured here in this prison photo taken on Jan. 18, 2006:
