Think you have a sweet tooth? Well, you’ve met your match—believe me. (I have the cavities to prove it. I keep my dentist in business.)

One of my favorite quick desserts is this three ingredient, 30-minute peach cobbler. This is one dish the whole family will enjoy.

Traditionally known as a dump cobbler, you just layer each ingredient in your baking dish and soon enough, you’ll be serving one great sweet treat.

30-MINUTE PEACH COBBLER

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 ounce) can sliced peaches in heavy syrup
  • 2/3 cup yellow cake mix
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 2-cup oven-safe bowl or baking dish

1. Pour can of peaches, syrup and all, into baking dish.

2. Add layer of yellow cake mix, followed by margarine. Don’t mix.

3. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Tips

  • You can substitute your favorite fruit for the peaches in this recipe. (I traditionally use two freshly sliced apples and thicken them with a 1/4 cup cornstarch, 1/4 cup water and a dash of cinnamon.)
  • You don’t have to melt the butter before baking. I cut mine into tablespoons and layer on top of the cake mix.
  • Sometimes I will add 1/8 cup rolled oats or extra seasonings like nutmeg or cloves to accent the fruit. Just try not to overpower the fruit’s flavor.
