Hey there—

If you haven’t heard by now — SURPRISE — this is my last day at KWCH. It’s incredibly bittersweet, but I’m excited for the future.

I want to thank you all for sharing a couple of fabulous years here at Channel 12. I’ve learned a lot in marketing & news — and I’d like to think I’ve done one hell of a job. One of my promos has nearly 25,000 hits (yes, thousands) on YouTube alone — and there are a few others I’m quite proud of too.

Before I came to Wichita, I was a full-time reporter in Topeka. And now, I plan to make a return to reporting. I miss it all so much, and one of my latest stories made me realize the job search is definitely worth the wait. (Thank goodness for all those fabulous hours in Final Cut Pro, guys!)

The future is promising. On Monday, I fly out to interview for a reporter job in Cleveland. I’m excited to find a new home, though none will compare to here.

Who knew that a gal from Wellington could make it so far? I think a lot of that interest, those skills come back to our team. So thank you. Truly, thank you.

No matter where I go, however, I’m proud to call this home — not just Kansas — but my family here at Eyewitness News.

So this isn’t goodbye, but merely a “see ya later…” Until then, you can catch me on Twitter, Facebook or at annettelawless@hotmail.com.
