CLEVELAND–It’s a display that almost didn’t happen.
After a model train display was wiped out from recent storms, neighbors near a plant nursery gathered to help out.
“The ceiling fell down and wiped out the display. It’s really great that so many people came here to restore what we built,” said Dale Heyink, owner of Puritas Nursery. “It takes months to build, but we were able to get it running again very quickly.”
Eighteen trains run over bridges and tunnels–and this year–even over water.
There are also live shrubs and miniature towns to complete the scene.
It’s one sight that’s definitely bringing out the kid in everyone.
“Christmas has always been the one holiday I really really love,” said Ken Perez, who helps build one of the train displays. “And I like decorating in the house and the tree and everything like that, but this right here, it adds like icing on the cake.”
