FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio–‘Tis the season to give, and a local housing community is doing just that.

Residents at Aberdeen Commons are donating foods and toys to families in need.

“Even if they’re not in such a position to give too much, they like giving something,” said Judi Holowatyj, manager of Aberdeen Commons. “I’ve had people come in that, you know they’re not in the position to give a lot. It feels good to give. We gave them that opportunity, and they appreciated it.”

Residents say it’s important to help others through local charities, like Toys for Tots and Harvest for Hunger.

It’s just what some needed to get into the holiday spirit.

“It feels really good,” Holowatyj said. “It actually makes this time of the year feel like the most wonderful time of the year. I know that sounds really corny, but it really does. It feels really goods, and I think the residents really enjoy it too.”

The community has done so well with this week’s donations, Holowatyj said they plan to continue collecting food throughout the year.
