Hi. I’m Annette, and I work in television. Reigning from grand ole’ Wellington, Kan., I’m just a small-town girl with big-city dreams.
Driven, loving and spontaneous, I never miss a beat in life. I just want to live by the moment and soak up the world around me. I might seem all about work, but I’m not afraid to have some fun too.
My biggest dream? For the longest time, I wanted to become an international TV correspondent for a news network, moving up the chain to an anchor chair.
Things have changed, though in my time in the business. I think it’s because I realize that sometimes the best things are what’s right in front of you. Now, reporting and anchoring in my hometown — even with my husband as a competitor — I have embraced passion projects like my daily investigative work with Missing in Kansas.
My biggest goal now is looking at long-format, magazine-style stories, like what you’d see on ABC’s 20/20 or 60 Minutes. I love to touch on the heartwarming stories too. There is so much good in this world. We need to hear about it.
One day, if the opportunity came, I’d like to work for a national program with the same agenda. Yet, today, I’m working on projects like this on my own. That’s the beauty of the industry right now. You don’t have to have a big budget to make something incredible. Give yourself time and push yourself, and you’ll find ways to craft opportunities.
I feel very blessed to be where I am.
I wish i could also see you reporting on The Young Turks. Would love to see your honest and open reporting on that network!
Hi Annette, Awesome website, I love the format and the mission of your site. I am the owner/operator of a small agency here in Wichita (People First Services). Our agency provides Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities the opportunity to more fully integrate in our Wichita community. If we can ever be of assistance to you, please let us know!
